CWN sends comments to EPA on draft climate strategy

Clean Water Network Board of Director's approves its first ever Climate Change Statement on June 5th, 2008

Global Warming and Water News

On Wednesday, September 26th, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee held a hearing on Global Warming and its impacts on the Chesapeake Bay. CWN Member group Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) participated on a panel of experts in the region. (Sep 30, 2007)

Clean Water Network’s Global Warming Guide

Uniting the local and the global, many clean water groups are participating in global warming adaptation and mitigation activities, policies, and programs. Network summer intern Liz Piper-Goldberg took on the enormous challenge of compiling a booklet, which showcases examples of Clean Water Network member organizations programs on the cutting edge of the water/climate movement. The Network Announces Recipients of State Assistance Fund

Ten member projects have been selected to receive financial support from Round 1 of the Network's 2007 State Assistance Fund (SAF). Round 2 applications will be due April 10th. The fund reimburses CWN members for activities that advance the Network’s mission of protecting and restoring America’s waters. The SAF supports project requests in the range of $50-$3,000. Sign up for New Funding Listserv

CWN will soon launch a new listserv to encourage member communication on funding resources and issues. The Funding listserv will be a forum to announce and discuss specific funding opportunities for which member organizations may be eligible. Fifteen Member Organizations Apply for Network’s State Assistance Fund

Round 2 applications for the Clean Water Network’s State Assistance Fund (SAF) were due on April 10th. The fund reimburses CWN members for activities that advance the Network’s mission of protecting and restoring America’s waters. The Network received 15 project proposals which are currently being considered by the Review Committee. Recipients of SAF support will be announced at the end of May. Global Warming and Water Workgroup Discussion Forum

The Clean Water Network recently launched a dynamic new workgroup on global warming and water. The observed and projected impacts of global climate change on our water resources - sea level rise, saltwater intrusion of coastal aquifers, ocean acidification, increases in floods and droughts, and the reduction of the glaciers and snowpacks that anchor much of the world's drinking water supplies - are arguably among the most important impacts of global warming. A draft mission statement for the workgroup is now available. (Jul 18, 2007)

Announcing Two New Workgroups

CWN announces the launching of two new workgroups, (1) Enforcement; and (2) Global Warming and Water. Karla Raettig from the Environmental Integrity Project will be taking over the helm of the Enforcement Workgroup. Making Donations to the Clean Water Network

There is no mandatory membership dues for the Network. However, CWN encourages voluntary contributions from members. It allows us to further our clean water mission and expand and improve our extensive membership services. (Aug 21, 2006)
