Global Warming: The Case for Protecting Our Headwaters
This fact sheet from American Rivers discusses how global warming threatens to increase flooding and droughts, reduce water supply, and aggravate water quality problems. Headwater streams and wetlands provide many benefits to mitigate such threats. For this reason, the Clean Water Authority Restoration Act of 2007 is needed to protect these valuable resources.

Information on the Clean Water Trust Act [HR 4560] and the CWSRF
CWN has received a number of inquiries regarding the Clean Water Trust Act (HR 4560). Earlier this year a letter was sent from a number of CWN members including Clean Water Action, the Natural Resources Defense Council and American Rivers to Congressman John Duncan, the Chair of the House Water Resources and Environmental Subcommittee on HR 4560.

US EPA has made available maps for all fifty states showing the percentage of ephemeral, intermittent and perennial streams that make up the states' watersheds. According the EPA's No Protection policy, these streams waters may not receive Clean Water Act protections.
