Available Now: GAO Report on the Inadequacy of the Army Corps Management of Wetland Mitigation Projects
The General Accounting Office recently released a report criticizing the Army Corps of Engineers for it mismanagement of providing guidance to permitees required to create mitigation wetland under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. Section 404 requires permitees that fill, dredge or discharge into a wetland to replace those wetland. The Corps is responsible for managing this program and the findings of the GAO can all be found in the report located on the CWN website.
