WIN Letters to Conferees
Please find through the link provided below, the Water Infrastructure Network (WIN) Letter distributed yesterday to U.S. House and Senate Conferees on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
This letter requests the inclusion of "a minimum of $6 B for the Clean Water SRF" in the final Conference Report, which the Clean Water Network supports.

New Report Helps Citizens Fight Stormwater Pollution in Their Communities

Groups to Challenge Feds’ Refusal to Limit Perchlorate in Drinking Water
Environmental advocates plan to sue the Unites States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over its refusal to set limits for perchlorate in drinking water. Perchlorate, a primary ingredient in rocket fuel, munitions, and explosives, has been linked to thyroid problems in pregnant women, newborns and young children nationwide.

Environment America Releases Seminal Report on Water Efficiency
Environment America just released a new report on water efficiency. The report shows that by using existing water-efficient technologies and practices in agriculture, homes, electricity production and business the six Southwestern states alone could save up to 1.86 trillion gallons of water per year. This is equivalent to the amount of water New Mexico and Nevada consume each year.

Corps Reform Network Announces their 2008 Action Assistance Fund
The Corps Reform Network (CRN) recently put out an invitation to CRN Member Groups to submit applications for their Fall/Winter 2008 cycle of the CRN Action Assistance Fund. The deadline for this round of applications is Monday, November 17, 2008.
Since many CRN groups are also CWN members, we want to spread the word.
