Puget Sound Recovery Act of 2009 - Amends the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (commonly known as the Clean Water Act) to direct the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to: (1) establish a Puget Sound Program Office, to be co-located with the Puget Sound Partnership in Washington; and (2) appoint a Director of the Office.

On May 11th, the Clean Water Network Board of Directors released a public position statement on the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The spill, which has already poured millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf, continues to grow at an alarming rate.

The last several weeks have been busy on Capitol Hill. A number of different committeess from both sides of Congress have held hearings to discuss the Deep Horizon oil rig spill in the Gulf of Mexico that is currenlty pumping out over 200,000 gallons of crude oil in the Gulf every day. The hearings have focused on testimony from both industry executives and government officials.
