Burt Lake Preservation Association

The Burt Lake Preservation Association's goal is the preservation and improvement of Burt Lake and its watershed for quality use by future generations. To do this we will unify the lake community to confront the key issues involving the lake and its watershed. Working in cooperation with federal, state, and local government entities, educational institutions, foundations, conservancies and other resources, the Burt Lake Preservation Association (BLPA) will contribute financial and human resources to fulfill this goal. While supporting and participating in an array of activities, we assume responsibility for the following:

  • Maintaining Burt Lake's water quality is first priority.
  • Use of the lake, its shoreline, and its watershed all impact water quality, water safety, and water enjoyment.
  • Good management and direction are the key to successful Association operation.
  • The BLPA will promote understanding, appreciation, and protection for the rights and responsibilities of property owners.
  • Government decisions and legislation may have important effects on our surrounding areas.
  • The breadth of Association activity is limited only by the depth of Association resources.
  • In the interest of the best possible communications with our membership, governmental units, other agencies and organizations, we may:
    • Publish a newsletter a minimum of three times per year
    • Publish a Directory annually listing membership names, addresses, and phone numbers along with pertinent information regarding the lakes and its watershed
    • Conduct an annual meeting
