Florida Consumer Action Network, Inc.

Founded in December, 1984 from a coalition of existing grassroots organizations, FCAN has become the premier Florida organization for promoting and achieving a more democratic and just Florida.   Featuring substantial capital in state executive and legislative bodies, and a highly diverse board, FCAN has been successful in empowering underserved populations to influence public policy across a wide spectrum of issues.

Some of the issues that FCAN is involved in range from redistricting, insurance, and jobs, to energy, health care, and ecological concerns in local waterways.  FCAN works to tackle these issues by building grassroots support, working with government agencies and media, and lobbying elected officials.  With the help of dozens of affiliated organizations in all facets of society, and a committed phone canvassing team, FCAN helps citizens become more involved with issues that affect their lives on a regular basis.
