Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers

"Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers, Inc." is an Arkansas non-profit organization 501(c)(3) devoted to creating an on-going dialogue where individuals, groups, and government agencies can work together to restore, enhance and conserve these beautiful rivers.

Threats to Our Rivers
The seemingly healthy White and North Fork rivers have been in decline for a number of years. We're seeing decreased water quality and fish populations, stream bank erosion, muddy runoffs from inappropriate development practices, an increase in algae blooms and the list goes on. Anything that endangers our rivers threatens our incredible fishery and our local economy.

Our Rivers Have a Tremendous Impact on Our Quality of Life
Our rivers have a tremendous impact on the quality of life in our area. The White and North Fork rivers are estimated to bring $100,000,000 a year to this area's economy. Without the continued appeal of these rivers local businesses would suffer, property values would plunge so that your home would be worth less than the money you invested in it. The area would become depressed.

 What Should We Do?
First we must identify the problems that affect the rivers. Next we must make new and effective choices that contribute to the solution. Then, with knowledge, go into action to have a positive impact on our rivers. To that end, we invite you to become a member of the Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers, the most active and effective group of citizensdedicated to keeping our rivers healthy
