CWN Capitol Hill Briefing: Factory Farms--It's What's NOT For Dinner! The Hidden Costs of Getting Food on your Table
Clean Water Network held the first installment in the Clean Water Network's important series on America's Water Crisis. The packed room of congressional staff, environmental activists and academics heard a high profiel panel of experts speak about the serious impacts of factory farms (CAFOs-Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) on our
nation's water resources.The speakers, touched on legislative, regulatory and litigation issues and also focused considerable time outlining the serious public health implications from CAFOs. Panelists also discussed the ramifications of providing federal and state subsidies to the CAFO industry.

Center for a Livable Future, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Martha Noble, Senior Policy Associate and Attorney, Sustainable Agriculture Coalition,
Clean Water Network Vice-President of the Board of Directors
Eric Schaeffer, Executive Director, Environmental Integrity Project (EIP). Former
director of EPA's Office of Civil Enforcement, and also of EPA's Pollution Prevention Policy Staff
