Act Now to Ensure Water Infrastructure Funding is in the Senate Jobs Bill!

During President Obama's January 27th State of the Union Address, he announced that passing a new jobs bill will be his number one priority in 2010. The House passed a jobs bill in December that includes $2 billion for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) and $2 billion for the Drinking Water SRF. The House bill also requires that at least 20% of these funds go to green projects. Now it is time for the Senate to do the same!

Your Senators need to hear from you that much needed money to fix our crumbling water infrastructure and investments in innovative green solutions should be included in the upcoming Senate jobs bill. Senators Cardin and Whitehouse will be sending a letter to Senate Leadership on Monday February 1st asking that the jobs bill include $3 billion for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) and $3 billion for the Drinking Water SRF. If your Senators are not on the list below, please contact them TODAY and ask them to sign onto the Cardin-Whitehouse Dear Colleague letter supporting clean water and jobs.
