Members Attend Earth Day Events
- The Audubon Society of Rhode Island is offering a weeklong schedule of free guided walks at wildlife refuges acorss the state and nearby Massachusetts. More Information.
- Citizens Campaign for the Environment celebrated the 40th annual Earth Day held an advocacy and education day in Hartford, CT. They brought together hundreds of environmentalists from across the state in advocating for measures to protect Connecticut's land, air, water and people. Check it out.
- The Croton Watershed Clean Water Coalition attended the Earth Day lobbying rally in Albany Tuesday for support from the legislature on environmental protection bills. They also ran a table at the Westchester Community College on Wednesday showing the extreme dangers of high volume horizontal hydrofractuing gas drilling and the need for wtaer and forest protections.
- Friends of the Mississippi River is hosted its traditional Earth Day cleanup, invasive species removal and tree planting event last Saturday morning. Volunteers at the event helped beautify the riverfront, oak savanna and maple basswood forest in the Minneapolis River Gorge and also enjoyed educational presentations. Read more>>>
